While stroking the canvas I feel like a musician. Painting to me is my life style of life. My writing and painting go hand in hand.”
With many years of harnessing strokes on the canvas Mr Vrat, an artist and poet of renown, is one of the senior artist with 27 Art Street.
A versatile painter, Vigyan Vrat is deeply connected with nature. Extraordinary force and incredible sensorial richness resonating with the passionate colours and its symbolic, emotive value is achieved by discerning understanding about the nature around. His paintings are an expression of pure emotion addressed towards the external struggle between man and nature, and the hunt for spiritual comfort expressed through abstraction. Interacting with the paint, canvas and tools; he seems to pay attention to the physical qualities of the paint itself, its texture and nature. With complex and dynamic linear patterns that fuse image and form, achieving a precarious balance between the deliberateness of stroke and the intuitiveness of gesture. Pre-occupied with imminent energies, Vigyan's works emerge as an entity of vibrating power in pulsating forms. While going through his paintings one can smell the aroma of his poetry. Well, the painter is an established poet too and he has five collections of poetry at his credit.
The artist has participated in various solo as well as group exhibitions all across the globe. Including the Nehru Centre-London, Nottingham-U.K, Kala Ghoda Association gallery-Mumbai, Art Walk Gallery, Oberoi Tower-Mumbai, Ashoka Hotel-New Delhi, Jehangir Art Gallery-Mumbai to name a few.
His works are in collection various prestigious venues including the President’s House, New Delhi, Lalit Kala Academy, Punjab University, Realtech Group New Delhi and in many individual collections all over the globe.
Owing to his artistic and literary talent, Mr Vrat has been honoured by prestigious awards, including the Lalit Kala academy U.P.
Mr Vrat continues to work and live in New Delhi.
