Saiyad Akbar Ali is a self taught artist. Since an early age he was drawn towards colours and gradually towards the finer nuances of painting.
His works best represent the very abstract nature of things around him. Multiple layers of meaning draw a viewer as one tries to unravel the true beauty and depth of the artwork. Drawing inspiration from different forms of religion be it Hinduism, Buddhism and many other, his works are laden with religious symbols, reflected in the most intricate manner. His space is not merely a receptacle for the forms, but as an independent element in itself. A graceful balance holding the various elements together.
He has worked on projects for various hotels and other corporate clientele creating besides art works, murals for well known architects in the country.
Saiyad has participated in various shows curated by 27 Art Street, the most recent being at the Meherangarh Fort, Jodhpur, where the artist’s works were highly appreciated.
Saiyad is a promising artist with a pleasing sense of aesthetic captured through his art. His imagination and creativity help him produce works that explore a private world of real and imaginary beings, of dreams and fantasies, childhood recollections and unity of religious thoughts in new India.
